Celebrate National Mentoring Month, Become a GOTR Coach!
January is National Mentoring Month, a time to acknowledge, appreciate and celebrate the importance of mentors and the impact they have on society. Looking to get involved and make a difference locally, but you’re not sure where to start? Become a GOTR Coach this spring!
“The community that we have created and the lives we have touched by providing a safe space for our girls is something that I think we all wish that we had when we were younger and feel so fortunate to be able to give to the girls now. The relationships that have lasted throughout seasons of both Girls on the Run and various seasons of life are what keep me motivated to continue to help lead our amazing team at W. W. Evans.” – Coach Libby
Coaches are the heart of our program! Each season, volunteer coaches lead a team of girls through the GOTR curriculum. Being a runner is not required! All you need is a desire to support and encourage girls.
As a coach, you will:
- Receive all the tools and support you need to lead interactive and easy-to-follow lessons with your co-coaches
- Help girls grow their confidence, stand up for themselves and give back to their communities
- Help to transform and strengthen the next generation of girls
- Experience the positive impacts yourself!
“I have been able to make so many more genuine connections with these girls and become a safer space for them to share with and lean on for support.” – Coach Nicole
